A policeman named Mohammad Shahalam Khan (50) died after suddenly falling ill in Baufal of Patuakhali while coming home on vacation. Family claims death due to heatstroke.
He died on the way to Barisal Sher-i-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Monday (April 22) night. He was working as a police constable in the Dhaka Intelligence Branch (DB) of the police.
His family sources confirmed his death due to heatstroke.
Deceased Shah Alam was a resident of ward number 3 of Baufal town. His father’s name is Rattan Ali Khan.
According to his family sources, he came to his village home on vacation last Saturday. He fell ill suddenly around 9 pm on Monday. Later, he was ill and died on the way to Barisal Shebachim Hospital after treatment at Baufal Hospital.
Rubel Mia, a neighbor of deceased Shahalam, said that after he fell ill, he was first taken to Baufal Hospital. Later, if the condition worsened, the doctor on duty referred him to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical. From there he died on the way to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Doctors told us about death due to heat stroke.
