2 helicopters collided in mid-air in Malaysia, killing 10 passengers in both helicopters. The accident occurred during a military exercise of the Royal Malaysian Navy parade.
The news media BBC reported that today (April 23) at around 9:30 am local time, one helicopter collided with another during a military exercise at a naval base in Lumu, Malaysia, and the helicopters fell to the ground. There were a total of 10 crew members in the 2 helicopters. None of them are alive anymore.
1 of the 2 helicopters had a crew of 7. It is believed to have crashed on the moving track. And the other had a crew of 3. After the collision, it crashed into a nearby swimming pool. The dead bodies have been sent to the military hospital. It has also been informed that a committee will be formed to investigate the cause of the incident.
Earlier in March, a Coast Guard helicopter crashed in the sea off Malaysia’s Angsa Island during a training exercise. However, no one lost their lives in the accident. Then the pilot, co-pilot and 2 passengers were rescued alive by local fishermen.
