Yesterday, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Jessore and Chuadanga, 40.6 degrees Celsius; Which was 42.2 degrees on Sunday, in Chuadanga. The previous day, the highest temperature was recorded in the southern town of Jessore, 42.6 degrees. This was the highest this year. The temperature of the capital that day was 40.4 degrees. This was also the season’s highest in the city. The temperature of Dhaka further decreased to 37.8 degrees yesterday.
Rajshahi, Jessore, Pabna, Chuadanga and Satkhira recorded the highest temperatures in April. From the beginning of this month, heat wave started in most parts of the country. Then in the middle of this month, this heat wave has spread throughout the country. In this, intense heat wave is flowing over the southwestern districts of the country. Due to intense heat, the government has already announced a seven-day holiday in schools and colleges. At this time several people died of heat stroke across the country.
Omar Farooq, meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, said that the heat alert has been issued as the intense heat wave continues. The temperature will continue to rise for the next few days. The heatwave will continue till the end of this month. If it doesn’t rain in early May, the heat wave will be longer. However, there is no possibility of the heat wave reducing in the meantime. At the same time, the night temperature will also increase. As a result, people’s discomfort will also increase.
He said, now day and night temperature is higher than normal. As much as it is supposed to decrease at night, it is not decreasing. Because the temperature is supposed to be released at night. But the heat is not released as the air has more water vapor. So people are feeling uncomfortably hot even at night.
