At least 80 earthquakes were felt in the space of a few hours in Taiwan. More than 80 earthquakes were felt on Taiwan’s east coast from Monday (April 22) night local time to Tuesday (April 23) early morning. Among them, the strongest earthquake had a magnitude of 6.3.

According to news agency Reuters, the earthquake was also felt in the capital Taipei. This year’s earthquakes were felt more in the greater rural areas of Hualien. The region was badly damaged by the devastating earthquake on April 3.

According to reports, more than 80 earthquakes struck Taiwan’s east coast from Monday night to Tuesday morning, according to the island territory’s meteorological administration. The strongest of these tremors was magnitude 6.3. Some of these earthquakes that struck one after the other also shook buildings in the capital, Taipei.

According to the news, the earthquake was felt intermittently throughout the night on Monday. It shook large areas of northern, eastern and western Taiwan, including the capital Taipei.

Taiwan’s Meteorological Administration said the remote eastern county of Hualien was the epicenter of the earthquakes. At least 14 people lost their lives in the area earlier this month after a powerful earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale.

Hualien’s fire department said a hotel damaged by the April 3 earthquake was further damaged and leaning. However, it was closed due to damage from the previous earthquake. However, no casualty was reported.
