The main accused in the murder case was hacked to death in Pirojpur

A youth named Sohag Sheikh (32) has been accused of hacking to death due to previous enmity in Pirojpur. The incident took place at Bhairampur village of Kadamtala Union of Sadar Upazila around 10:30 PM on Monday (April 22).

Sohag Sheikh is the son of Siddique Sheikh of Bhairampur village in Kadamtala union of Sadar upazila. He was the main accused in the murder case of a person named Shahidul.

According to local sources, Sohag Sheikh and his family had been in conflict with one side for a long time based on the dominance of the area. After the last UP election, a person named Shahidul was killed in that area. Sohag Sheikh was made the main accused in that case. Based on this incident, the locals believe that the murder may have happened due to previous enmity.

Sehag Sheikh’s sister-in-law Samsur Rahman said, around 10:30 on Monday night, near the mosque near Sohag Sheikh’s house, the imam of the area, along with Samsu, suddenly cut Sohag Sheikh and left him behind. They had been threatened to kill them several times before. Samsu is the brother of Shahidul who was killed after the last UP elections and others are relatives of Shahidul.

Local UP member Mizan Howladar said Sohag was found dead at the spot. Sohag’s sister-in-law Samsur Rahman was nearby during the incident. He saw who did it. Some people had enmity with the Sohags for dominance in the area. They made Sohag the number one accused in the Shahidul murder case.

In this regard, the officer-in-charge of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station (OC) Md. Asikuzzaman said, initially, it is thought that this killing may happen due to previous enmity. Legal action in this regard is under process.
