Life sentence for 14 people in Chhatra Dal leader murder case

The court has sentenced 14 people including the former UP chairman to life imprisonment in the case of Chhatra Dal leader Parvez’s murder at Comilla’s Adarsh ​​Sadar. On Monday (April 22) at noon, the learned Additional District and Sessions Judge Judge Nasreen Jahan of the Second Court gave the verdict.

The convicts are, Sekander Ali, a resident of Dhanuakhali area of ​​Sadar police station and former UP chairman of Kalibazar, Md. of the same village. Shaheen, Syedpur Village. Saddam Hossain, Kamalapur Village Md. Saiful Islam, Md. Kaiser, Md. Riaz, Kamal Hossain, Mofiz Bhandari of Jashpur village, Md. of Manshasan village. Billal, Kalir Bazaar Union Md. Ibrahim Khalil, Mehedi Hasan of Raychon village, Zainal Abedin of Syedpur village, Abdul Quader of Mainamati Union of Burichong Upazila, Anwar of Narayansar village.

Advocate Shariful Islam, the lawyer of the plaintiff, confirmed this information and said that the court has accepted the testimony of 30 people during the trial. At the end of the evidence, the judge gave a verdict. Of the convicts, 11 were present in court and three are absconding.

According to Ezahar sources, on June 10, 2020, Chhatra Dal leader Parvez was killed by the then UP Chairman Sekander Ali and his forces in a garden next to Kamalapur Bazar in Kalirbazar Union of Adarsh ​​Sadar Upazila of Comilla District. In that incident, the wife of the victim filed a complaint at Kotwali Model Police Station. Later, when the real facts came out in the investigation, the investigating officer filed a case against 14 people as plaintiffs.

Hasina Begum, the wife of deceased Parvez, expressed her displeasure with the verdict and said, “I want all the accused to be hanged.” They brutally killed my husband. I will go to high court for justice.
