‘Making falsehoods about road accidents

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Road Transport Workers League has alleged that there is a conspiracy against the government by lying in the name of the report of road accidents during the Eid trip.

In a statement on Monday (April 22), the organization’s president Mohammad Hanif Khokon and general secretary Md. Insur Ali.

In a press release signed by Ashraful Islam, office secretary of Road Transport Workers League, it is said that on April 20, an organization named Bangladesh Yatrikalyan Samity published a report on road accidents during Eid Yatra, and many false and fictitious information about accidents and casualties has been given. Even gross falsehoods and brazen statements have been presented about the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges.

As a fraternal organization of Awami League and Jatiya Sramik League, Road Transport Sramik League feels that the Secretary General of Yatri Kalyan Samiti Mozammel Haque Chowdhury has served such factual information for the dishonest purpose of tarnishing the image of the current government and the road minister.

In a statement, the leaders of the Road Transport Workers’ League said that during the 14-year tenure of Roads Minister Obaidul Quader during the tenure of the current government, there has been extensive development in the road transport sector including Padma Bridge, Metro Rail and Karnaphuli Tunnel. But Jatri Kalyan Samiti said in a press conference that Obaidul Quader could not do anything as a minister for 20 years and he should resign from the ministry.

The leaders of the Road Transport Workers League strongly condemned and protested against such false, fabricated and bold statements of Mozammel Haque Chowdhury. At the same time, Mozammel strongly demanded the government to take legal action against Haque for his controversial statements and lies and to find out his source of income and political position.
