Jhelum Karanjai, Kolkata : From the city to the village burned by the intense heat. The temperature will rise again from Wednesday, says the Meteorological Department. Extreme heat wave will continue again in several districts of South Bengal. Calcutta will also flow. Partly cloudy skies are possible on Tuesday morning. So the temperature will feel slightly lower. There will be no heat wave in Kolkata and Howrah on Mars. Heat wave conditions on Tuesday in North 24 Parganas, West Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, Hooghly, East Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad and Nadia. There will be extreme heat wave in two places of Bengal. East Medinipur, South 24 Parganas and West Burdwan districts will experience severe heat stress.

Rest of the districts including Kolkata are under heat wave warning. There will be extreme heat wave warning in 9 districts on Thursday and Friday. Extreme heat wave will continue in East and West Medinipur North and South 24 Parganas East West Burdwan Hooghly Bankura Birbhum district. A heatwave warning will remain in effect in the rest of the districts including Kolkata.

Weather in North Bengal

Temperatures will also increase in the upper districts of North Bengal, rainfall will decrease. The heat will increase. Temperatures may increase in Malda and two Dinajpur districts. A heatwave warning has been issued from Wednesday to Friday in these two districts as well. North Bengal has also been affected by the heat wave. The lower districts have hot and uncomfortable weather. On the other hand, the rain will gradually decrease in the upper districts, and the temperature will increase. Scattered light rain will occur over Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri.

Calcutta temperature

In April 1980, the temperature rose to 41.7 degrees Celsius. Service records were hot in Kolkata. The highest temperature was recorded. So far, the mercury in Kolkata has touched 40.8 degrees Celsius. Kolkata had eight consecutive days above 40 in 2016 and 2009. Even in 2023, there were 5 days of maximum temperature above 40 in Kolkata. In 2024, the temperature was above 40 degrees in Kolkata for only two days.
