Taiwan has experienced repeated earthquakes. More than 80 earthquakes were felt along Taiwan’s east coast from Monday evening (April 22) to midnight local time. But there was no damage. No casualties were reported. British news agency Reuters reported this news.

Taiwan’s Meteorological Department said the strongest quake measured 6.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the remote area of ​​Hualien in the east. The earthquake was also felt in the capital, Taipei.

A few earthquakes were also felt on Tuesday morning. Several roads were closed due to rockfalls from the mountains. The government has announced closure of all government offices and schools for today.

Earlier on April 3, a strong earthquake shook the east coast of Taiwan. At least 14 people died. Many infrastructures are damaged.

According to USGS, the magnitude of the earthquake was 7.4. The epicenter was 18 km south of Hualien city.

It was the strongest earthquake in Taiwan in 25 years. Before this, in September 1999, an earthquake of magnitude 7.6 killed about 2,400 people.
