A young man named Al Islam (28) drowned in the Meghna river while climbing the roof of the launch to hang out with his friends in Bhairab of Kishoreganj. He is a German expatriate and the son of Haji Alauddin of Chandib area of ​​Bhairav ​​town.

The accident took place at Bhairav ​​Launchghat area around 8 pm on Monday (April 22). A diving team of the fire service recovered the body of the young man after receiving the news.

Witnesses and relatives said Al Islam moved to a university in Germany to pursue a higher degree in economics. He came to the country a few days ago to celebrate Eid with his family. He got married a few months ago. On Monday night, he went to hang out with friends on the roof of a launch anchored at the launch ghat in Bhairab Bazar. While climbing the roof of the launch, he fell from the stairs and fell into the water.

Realizing this, other friends went down in the water and started looking for him. After not finding him, a diving team of neighboring Ashuganj Fire Service went there and rescued him and took him to Upazila Health Complex Hospital. After being taken there, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

In this regard, the in-charge (OC) of Bhairab Naval Police Outpost Md. Moniruzzaman told Jago News that the young man was climbing the stairs on the roof of an anchored launch to hang out with his friends. Suddenly fall down and sink into the river. His body was recovered from the river an hour after he went missing.
