Youth life in Chandpur businessman murder case
Mizan Liton, Chandpur: [২] In the case filed in the case of the murder of Narayan Chandra Ghosh (60), a yogurt-sweets trader of Ghosh Para of the city, the only accused Rajeev Orpe Raju Chandra Sheel (30) was sentenced to life imprisonment, a fine of Tk 50,000 and 1 year of rigorous imprisonment in default.
[৩] Chandpur Senior District and Sessions Judge on Sunday (April 21) at noon. Mohsinul Haque gave this verdict.
[৪] Jailed Raju is the son of Subhash Chandra Sheel of Fatehabad village of Debidwar police station in Comilla district. At the time of the incident, she was working at Tiptop Hair Carti Salon in Bipnibag Bazar, Chandpur.
[৫] Murder victim Narayan Chandra Ghosh is a resident of Ghosh Para in the city. He earned his livelihood by selling curd and sweets in various shops including Bipni Bagh in the city.
[৬] According to the details of the case, on September 15, 2021, around 10:30 pm, Narayan Chandra Ghosh went to the salon of accused Raju. Because Narayan Chandra Ghosh used to lend money on interest. Raju took a loan of 2000 taka from him at a daily interest of 20 taka. Even though he paid the interest regularly, he could not do it on the day of the incident. Raju tells Narayan Chandra Ghosh to leave and come later. Later came again around 12 midnight and asked to cut and shave his hair. Just then, Raju gets enraged and cuts his throat with a sharp hoof as part of his saving grace and holds him to death. Later he left his body in a sack near Sharif Steel in Bipnibag Bazar.
[৭] The next day on September 16 at 7 am, the relatives found the body of Narayan Chandra Ghosh through the locals. The police came and recovered the body from the spot and completed the legal process.
[৮] Rajiv Ghosh, son of Narayan Chandra Ghosh, filed a murder case against Rajiv Orpe Raju Chandra Sheel at Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station on September 17 in this incident. After the case, the police arrested the accused Raju on September 21 and handed him over to the court. The case was investigated by the then Sub-Inspector (SI) Rashedul Islam of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station. After the investigation, he filed the charge sheet in the court on March 14, 2022.
[৯] State lawyer Public Prosecutor (PP) Ranjit Roy Chowdhury said that during the course of the case for more than two years, the testimony of 21 people was accepted. The judge gave this verdict after the accused admitted his guilt, reviewed the testimony and evidence and the documents of the case. The defendant was present in court during the verdict.
