The killings of BSF do not stop on the Bangladesh-India border. BSF is killing innocent Bangladeshi citizens one by one by shooting and torturing them.
This time BSF Hasan (26) shot and killed a Bangladeshi youth at the Putia border of Kasba Upazila in Brahmanbaria. This incident happened yesterday Monday morning around 8 o’clock. The deceased is the son of Daru Mia of Purbapara area of Kaimpur Union of Hasan Upazila. Experts say that the decision to use non-lethal weapons on the border has been taken at various high-level meetings of BGB and BSF. Policymakers also expressed goodwill towards reducing border killings to zero. Even at the political level talks between the two countries, India promised to reduce border killings to zero; But its reflection is rarely seen in reality. The recent killings on the Bangladesh-India border have raised concerns. BSF is brutally killing and torturing Bangladeshis on the border. On the other hand, the vigilant border guard BGB is stuck in a flag meeting or correspondence with the BSF.
Human rights activists and military experts say that the government’s usual protest against the deaths of Bangladeshi citizens on the border is not as strong as it used to be. Many are not confessing to BSF torture for fear of harassment. BSF is not paying attention to international law. As a result, BSF is now reckless in killing or torturing Bangladeshis. Border smugglers have a long-standing relationship with the Indian Border Guard. Some unscrupulous border guards of the two countries have close connivance with the smugglers. As a result, the smugglers continue to work unhindered. It can be seen that the Bangladeshis killed on the Bangladesh-India border are mainly shepherds and cattle smugglers.
According to police and locals, Hasan went to Putia border area on Monday morning. At this time, before realizing anything, Hasan was shot in the waist. Hasan immediately fell to the ground. Later local villagers rescued him and sent him to Comilla Medical College Hospital. However, Hasan died on the way to the hospital. Later, his body was brought to Kasba Upazila Health Complex from there.
Meanwhile, the deceased’s old mother Monowara Khatun and father Daru Mia burst into tears after seeing the body of their son at the Kasba Upazila Health Complex. They demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in this incident through Bangladesh government. In this regard, the captain of the 60th battalion of Brahmanbaria Sultanpur Lt. Colonel AM Jaber bin Jabbar’s mobile phone was tried several times but he did not receive the call.
Raju Ahmed, OC of Kasba police station, said that he came to know through relatives and locals that after Hasan went to the border area, BSF chased him and fired at one stage. Kasba Upazila Health Complex doctor Rabeya Akhtar said that a bullet hit the back of the victim’s body. He lost his life in this.
According to local sources, on Tuesday, April 9, at around 2 pm, the BSF entered Bangladesh through the Kaliganj border of Lalmonirhat and fired at two shepherds. The incident took place on the border of main pillar number 913 of Chandrapur Khamarbhati area of Kaliganj upazila. The victims are two Bangladeshi shepherds – Enamul Haque (28), son of deceased Mahir Uddin of Khamarbati village of Chandrapur Union of the upazila and Intu Mia, son of Babar Ali of the same area. The young man named Aminur Rahman was abducted from Dolapara border pillar of Barakhata Union of the upazila on Monday morning, April 15. Aminur Rahman is the son of Jabed Ali of that area. BSF has arrested a Bangladeshi youth from Hatibandha border in Lalmonirhat. He still hasn’t come back.
