Mother Shahinur Begum took the two children to the doctor in the morning. Shahinur’s mother Dilbar Necha was with him. All four people lost their lives in the bus on their way home at night.
The tragic accident took place on Monday (April 22) around 8 pm in Raipur Malikhil area of Daudkandi Upazila of Comilla on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The deceased are Dilbar Nesha (65), wife of Shahjalal of Kadmatoli village in Titas Upazila of Comilla, Shahinur Begum, wife of his daughter Safiq Mia, a resident of Darikandi village in the upazila, and Shahinur’s two daughters Saima (5) and Raicha (2).

Rashid Molla, father-in-law of deceased Shahinur Begum, said that in the morning, Shahinur went to Comilla city with her mother to see Saima and Raisha. All four of them died when the bus hit them in Raipur Malikhil area on their way home at night. Rashid Mollah burst into tears while saying the words.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daudkandi Highway Police Station Shahinul Alam told Jago News that the mother and grandmother were crossing the highway with two children around 8 pm. Meanwhile, a fast-moving bus of Ekushe Paribahan from Noakhali to Dhaka ran over them, killing them on the spot. The other seriously injured child was quickly rescued and taken to Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor declared him dead.
The OC also said that the bodies of the victims were recovered after getting the information. The bus fled after the incident but another bus of the same company was seized. Legal action is being taken in this incident.
