Shahinur Akhtar, wife of Safiq Mia, resident of Darikandi area of Titas Upazila of Comilla. On Monday (April 22) morning, mother Dilbar along with her two daughters Saima (5) and Raisa (2) went to see a doctor in Comilla city. On the way back after seeing the doctor, they all got crushed under the careless Ekushe Paribahan bus while crossing the highway at Raipur Malikhil area of Daudkandi Upazila.
On Monday (April 22) night, Shahinur’s father-in-law, Rashid Molla, came to Daudkandi Upazila Health Complex to collect the body and gave this information to the journalists.
Rashid Molla said, Shahinur is my younger son’s wife. They have two daughters. Shahinur went to Comilla to see a doctor with his mother and my two granddaughters this morning. I forbade before leaving. But did not listen. That was their last trip in the morning. He returned as a corpse.
He also said that the pieces of my son Safiq’s liver were two girls. My son has not yet heard about the accident. He will go mad with grief if he hears it. How will our family bear this grief?
Earlier, four people, including two children, were crushed under a speeding Ekushe Paribahan bus while crossing the highway at around 8 pm. The accident took place on the Dhaka-bound lane in Raipur Malikhili area of Daudkandi Upazila of Comilla on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The deceased are – Dilbar Nesha (65), wife of Shahjalal of Kadmatoli village in Titas Upazila, Shahinur Akhtar, wife of Safiq Mia, a resident of neighboring Darikandi area, and their two daughters Saima (5) and Raisa (2). Daudkandi
