Death of Gachali later from palm tree in Bagerhat, thought to be heat stroke

Md. fell from the palm tree in the intense heat and sun in Bagerhat. Amjad Hossain Sheikh (57), a Gachali, died. Doctors and family think that this tree fell down due to heat stroke while sitting on the tree. On Monday (April 22) morning, he fell while cutting palm trees in Bhattapratap village of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila. After being rescued and taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The deceased Md. Amjad Hossain Sheikh is the son of deceased Azhar Ali Sheikh of Bhattapratap village of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila. A gardener by profession. He used to earn his living by selling palm sap.

Son of the deceased. Keramat Ali said, like every day, he went out to cut palm trees at around 9 am on Monday. After cutting down a few trees, he climbed a tall palm tree near the house. Shortly after climbing the tree, he fell head-over-heels in the sun. Immediately rescued and taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. Mostafizur Rahman declared him dead.

Resident Medical Officer of Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex Dr. Mostafizur Rahman said that Amjad Hossain Sheikh was brought dead to the hospital by his family members. I think he may have fallen from the tree due to heatstroke due to lack of water in intense heat.
