Rickshaw driver Abdul Awal (45) died after falling unconscious on the road in the scorching heat of the capital.

The incident took place on the road behind Dhaka Medical Nursing College on Monday afternoon.

He was rescued unconscious and brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. After examination, the doctor on duty declared him dead at 4:30 pm.

Son of deceased Azam Ali of Sinhagram of Lakhai Upazila of Habiganj. Currently he lived in Shibumarket area of ​​Narayanganj.

Rickshaw owner Mohibul Alam said, Awal used to drive my rickshaw on rent. My rickshaw garage is in Shanirakhra. The relatives of the deceased have been informed.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shahbag police station Suman Basak confirmed the matter and said that it is thought that he may have died of heat stroke. The body has been kept at the Dhamek Mortuary.

Quoting the people around the spot, he said, the man was driving a rickshaw and fell down from the rickshaw at Khichuri Patti on the road behind the nursing college and fell unconscious on the spot due to convulsions. After being taken to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
