One person died of diarrhea in Patuakhali, 116 new cases

Diarrhea has become rampant in Patuakhali district in summer. Till Monday morning, 116 people have been admitted to various hospitals due to diarrhea in the district in the previous 24 hours. Apart from this, a person named Sattar Faraji died due to diarrhea in Kalapara of the district.

He died on the way to Kalapara Hospital on Sunday evening (April 21). He was a resident of Char Baliatli village of Kalapara Baliatli union.

Relatives of Sattar Farazi said that he was suffering from diarrhea for several days. He also had kidney problems. After taking medicine from the local pharmacy, when the condition worsened, he was treated at a clinic in Kalapara on Monday morning. He later died on the way to the hospital.

Kalapara Health Center doctor Tanjila Hasi Trisha confirmed this information.

Meanwhile, there is no room for patients suffering from heat-related diseases in the district hospitals. The hospital authorities are in a difficult situation to handle the additional patients beyond the capacity.

Despite adequate stock of saline and medicine, 2 to 3 children are kept in the same bed due to shortage of beds. In addition, patients have to be given space on the floor and balcony. Complications are created in the toilet.
