A tree died of ‘heat stroke’ in Bagerhat’s Fakirhat. He fell from the tree and died due to heat stroke while cutting trees around 10 am on Monday. The doctor said that he died of heat stroke. The name of that tree is Amjad Hossain Sheikh (57). He is the son of Azhar Ali Sheikh of Bhattapratap village of Sadar Upazila.

Amjad Hossain’s son Keramat Ali said that his father Amjad was a gardener by profession. He made a living by cutting palm trees and selling the juice. Like every day around 9 in the morning he goes out to cut palm trees. After cutting 9 to 10 trees, he climbed a tall palm tree near the house. Shortly after climbing the tree, he fell head-over-heels in the sun. He was then rescued and taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

In this regard, the resident medical officer of Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex. Mostafizur Rahman said, ‘A person named Amjad Hossain Sheikh was brought unconscious by the family members. Later it was confirmed by ECG that he was dead. He may have fallen from the tree due to heat stroke due to dehydration in extreme heat. He was brought dead to the hospital.’

Meanwhile, people from all walks of life in this district are gasping for breath. According to the message of the Meteorological Department, the mercury rose to 41.7 degrees Celsius in Bagerhat. Which is increasing. The pitch (bitumen) of various roads and highways of this district is melting in the fire.

Despite their best efforts, the farmers are unable to protect the fish in the shrimp enclosure due to the intense heat. On Sunday too, many Gerer fishes were found dead. The chickens of Pottery Farm are dying. Asim Das of Jaigachi village said that in the last 3 days, about 250 chickens in his farm have died due to excessive heat.
A person named Kamruzzaman Mukul said, I have never seen such heat in my life, everything seems to be burning. I could not stay comfortably in the house. I can’t sleep at night, I’m suffocating in the heat. Too much trouble. ‘

School teachers Laila Begum and Sunayana Roy Soma said, morning, noon and night are equally hot. Cooking is very difficult. Even after staying at home, the body is sweating profusely, the clothes are always wet. Bathing 2/3 times in a day does not help, the body feels worse.’
Bagerhat Civil Surgeon Dr. Jalal Uddin and 250 bed hospital supervisor Asim Kumar Samaddar told Janakantha that for the past few days the pressure of patients suffering from abdominal pain and stroke has increased. They pointed out that there is a lack of health awareness including not going out of the house unnecessarily and consuming more soft drinks and fruits.
