District Representative, Chuadanga: Six days after she went missing in Alamdanga of the district, the police recovered the half-melted body of a woman named Nithri Khatun (53).

On Monday (April 22), the body was found hanging from a tree at the bank of an abandoned pond in Durgapur village of Kumari Union of the upazila.

The deceased Nithri Khatun is the wife of Abdul Jalil of Durgapur area of ​​Kumari Union of Alamdanga Upazila.

The temperature is 40.6 degrees in Khulna division, Jessore and Chuadanga

According to police and local sources, Nithri Khatun went missing from Wednesday evening. His family searched relatives’ houses instead of keeping a general diary at Alamdanga police station. Around 2.30 pm on Monday, local residents saw the half-melted body of a woman hanging on a tree on the bank of an abandoned pond in Kumari Union’s Durgapur village. Later local people called the National Emergency Service number (999) and reported the matter. On receiving information, the Alamdanga police went to the spot and recovered the body. Meanwhile, after receiving the news of the recovery of the body, the relatives of Nithri Khatun came to the spot and identified the body as that of the missing Nithri Khatun.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Alamdanga police station Sheikh Gani Mia said that the body of the woman was half-melted. After the initial postmortem, the body was sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. A wrongful death case has been registered in the police station.
