Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi lost a close relative in an accident. His sister and brother-in-law’s car met with an accident on Saturday afternoon on the way to West Bengal. Pankaj’s brother-in-law Rakesh Tiwari died in the accident. His sister Savita was also seriously injured in the accident. He is under treatment in hospital.
It is learned that Pankaj’s sister and her husband were coming from Gopalganj in Bihar towards West Bengal on Saturday afternoon. Rakesh was driving himself. The car hit the median divider on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway in Jharkhand’s Nirsa Bazar area. The accident happened around 4:30 pm.

Savita and Rakesh were quickly rescued from the accident car. They were taken to Shahid Nirmal Mahato Medical College Hospital in Dhanbad. Doctors declared Rakesh dead there. Hospital emergency department supervisor Dinesh Kumar Gindauria told news agency PTI that Pankaj’s sister Savita had a broken leg. But for now he is out of danger. His physical condition is stable.
Police said Rakesh was driving the car himself. After initial investigation, it is believed that he lost control on the national highway due to some reason. The actual cause of the accident is being investigated. Rakesh’s body has been sent for post-mortem.
