In the last 24 hours, 8 people died of heatstroke across the country. Among them, two people died in Phulbari of Dinajpur, one in Pabna, one in Meherpur, one in Madhavadi of Narsingdi, one in Shariatpur, one in Jhalkathi and one in Sylhet.

Dinajpur: Two people died due to heat stroke in Phulbari, Dinajpur. They are Motahar Ali (58), a former municipal councilor of Chaksabajpur village in Phulbari town area and Billal Hossain (52), a truck driver of Rajarhat village in Jessore Kotwali police station area. Motahar Hossain’s son Sanjid Ahmed Sweet said, “My father had fever for a few days.” On Saturday (April 20) around 5:30 pm, he suddenly became very ill. At that time, he was taken to Upazila Health Complex and declared dead by the doctor on duty. On the other hand, truck owner Sohrab Hossain said that truck driver Billal Hossain went to Barapukuria area to collect stone dust rent from Jessore. Pabna: A farmer named Alauddin Ali Alal (43) died of heat stroke while working to harvest corn in Chatmohar upazila of Pabna. Alauddin Ali Alal died at Pabna General Hospital on Sunday afternoon. According to family and local sources, Alauddin Ali Alal fell ill due to heat stroke while working to harvest corn in Chatmohar in the morning. Meanwhile, he was rescued and admitted to Atgharia Upazila Health Complex. Later in the afternoon, he was taken to Pabna General Hospital for better treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Meherpur: A housewife named Shilpi Khatun (45) died of heatstroke in Gangni, Meherpur. The incident took place at Ruerkandi village of Sholtaka Union of the upazila at 8 am on Sunday. Artist Khatun is wife of Abu Taher of Ruerkandi village and daughter of Billal Malitha of neighboring Amtail village. Meherpur Deputy Commissioner Shamim Hasan said, UNO and health officials have been instructed to confirm whether Shilpi Khatun’s death was due to heatstroke. Shariatpur: An autorickshaw driver named Harun Chowkidar (43) died due to heat stroke in Shariatpur. The incident took place in front of the district council on Sunday afternoon. Harun Chowkidar is the son of Ali Hossain Chowkidar of Nayan Madbarkandi area of ​​Moktarchar union of Naria upazila.

Resident Medical Officer of Sadar Hospital Dr. Sabikun Nahar said, I learned from the relatives that Harun suddenly fell ill due to excessive heat. When the patient’s relatives brought him to Sadar Hospital in an ambulance, I went to see him in the ambulance. He died before being brought to the hospital.

Jhalkathi: A youth died of heat stroke in West Aura village of Kathalia Sadar Union of Kathalia Upazila of Jhalkathi. His name is Md. Afzal Talukder (45). Local rural doctor Dilip Chandra Howladar confirmed that he died of heat stroke.

Sylhet: A rickshaw puller died of heat stroke in South Surma of Sylhet. The incident took place in front of the South Surma police box on Sunday afternoon. The identity of the rickshaw puller was not immediately available.

Dakshin Surma police OC Yardous Hasan said that an unidentified rickshaw driver fainted in front of the Dakshin Surma police box around 12 noon. Later locals rescued him and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. At that time the doctor on duty declared him dead.
