A person named Kazim Uddin (40) died of electrocution while repairing a fan in a house in Sipahi Bagh, Khilgaon of the capital.

On Monday (April 22) around 2.30 pm, he was brought to the Dhaka Medical College (DMH) hospital unconscious and declared dead by the doctor in charge.

Kazim Uddin is the son of Ayat Ali of Nandanpur village of Kuliachar police station in Kishoreganj. At present, Khilgaon’s Sipahibag Chowdhury lived in a tin shed house on rent.

Liton, the neighbor who brought Kazim Uddin to the hospital, said that Kazim used to live in a rented house at Sipahibag Chowdhury Bari Mor Tinshed. He was trying to repair it himself when the fan he used suddenly became useless due to the intense heat. At that time he was accidentally electrocuted and became unconscious and was first taken to a local hospital. Later, when he was brought to Dhaka Medical for better treatment, the doctor in charge said that Kazim Uddin was no longer alive.

Bachchu Mia, inspector in charge of police camp of DMK Hospital, said that the body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital’s emergency department. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
