A laborer died after falling from a chair while decorating a wedding gate in Noakhali’s Companyganj.
The incident took place in front of the popular community center of Chowdhuryhat Bazar in Ward No. 4 of Charparvati Union of Upazila on Monday (April 22).
Deceased Deen Mohammad Khokon (46) is the son of deceased Ali Ahmad of Faraji Bari of Birahimpur village of Ward No. 4 of Sirajpur Union of the same upazila. She worked in wedding decorations.
According to local sources, Khokon worked at Hafez Mosharef Hossain’s popular community center in Chowdhuryhat Bazaar of the upazila for the past 6 years. On Monday (April 22), the marriage ceremony of the son of Mr. from Mehrun Necha area of Charparvati Union with the daughter of Babul from Dak Bangla area of the same union was scheduled. That’s why he started decorating the community center in the morning. At that time, he accidentally fell from the chair and hit his head, causing his brain to come out. He died on the spot.
Hafez Mosharef Hossain, the owner of the popular community center, said that Khokon was very sick since morning. I think he died of a stroke and fell from the chair.
Charparvati Union Parishad Chairman Kazi Md. Hanif Ansari said, I visited the place after receiving the news. As the family of the deceased did not complain, they took the body to their home.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Companyganj police station Pranab Chowdhury said that no one informed the police station about this matter.
