Two children died after drowning in Chandnaishe pond in Chittagong. The accident took place on Monday (April 22) in the pond of Basu Majhi’s house in Ward No. 4 Harla village of Chandanish Municipality.
The deceased are Jannatul Mawa (9) and Nusrat Jahan Faria (8). Mawa Harla Village. Belal is the daughter of Uddin and Nusrat is the daughter of Zakir Hossain of the same village. Jannatul Mawa is a third class student of Harla Cooperative Government Primary School and Nusrat is a first class student of West Harla Government Primary School.
The relatives of the deceased said that between 12.30 and 1.00 noon today, children Jannatul Mawa Mimpa and Nusrat Jahan drowned while taking a bath in the pond near their house. After going to shower late
When looking for them, at one point, they found the bodies of two children floating in the pond next to the house. At that time, when they started screaming, the locals came and rescued them from the pond and took them to Chandanish Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
Chandanish Upazila Health Complex Dr. Priyanka Chowdhury said that the two children died before being brought to the health complex.
Yujutsu Yash Chakma, OC (Investigation) of Chandanish police station said, I have received information that two children have drowned in water. UD diary will be made in the police station in this incident.
