Today saw huge buying among investors due to good signals in global markets. The market witnessed this growth due to buying of FMCG and consumer durable stocks. The Nifty Midcap index managed to cross 49,000. BSE Sensex jumped 560 points to close at 73,648 points and National Stock Exchange Nifty jumped 190 points to close at 22,336 points at the end of today’s trading.

The market cap increased by Rs 4.24 lakh crore
The market capitalization of the market increased due to investors’ buying in the Indian stock market. The market cap of BSE-listed stocks closed at Rs 398.25 lakh crore, up from Rs 393.47 lakh crore in the last trading session. Today’s trading session saw a jump of Rs 4.78 lakh crore in market cap.

In which sector was the boom in the market?
The biggest gains in the market were seen in consumer staples or FMCG stocks. Due to which Nifty consumer index rose by 2.40 percent. Apart from this, shares of FMCG, healthcare, oil and gas, energy, pharma, auto, IT, banking sectors also performed well. Both indices closed with strong gains due to buying in midcap and smallcap stocks. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 44 closed with gains and only 6 closed with losses. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 27 closed higher and 3 closed lower.

Which stocks increase, where the fall?
Larsen rose 2.70 percent, Axis Bank 2.45 percent, Bajaj Finance 2.32 percent, SBI 2.12 percent, Wipro 2.02 percent, Infosys 1.62 percent, HCL Tech 1.56 percent. NTPC closed down 1.82 percent, JSW Steel 1.08 percent, HDFC Bank 1.04 percent lower.
