The police recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Shiuli Khatun (30) in Bagatipara of Natore.
The incident took place on Monday morning in Banshbaria area of Jamnagar Union of the upazila.
The housewife is the wife of Abdul Aziz Mandal alias Shakti of that area.
According to the police and local sources, on the day of the incident, the housewife locked the door of her bedroom from inside and hanged herself with a noose around her neck. The family members became suspicious when they did not get any response after long calls. One of the relatives looked through the window of the house and saw that Shiuli was hanging by a noose. After informing the police, they recovered the body.
It is also known that the housewife’s first daughter died almost two years ago after giving birth to a son. Since then he was suffering from mental depression. Later, her depression increased due to the birth of a girl child again. He also had an argument with his mother a few days ago regarding the ancestral land. So everyone thinks that you can commit suicide due to mental depression.
Bagatipara Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nannu Khan said, the body has been sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Legal action will be taken.
