A student of philosophy department named Soad died while taking a bath in the swimming pool of Dhaka University. He is a first year student of philosophy department and resident student of Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall.
The incident took place in the swimming pool adjacent to the central playground of DU on Monday afternoon. When his classmates took him unconscious, the doctor declared him dead at 2 o’clock in the morning.
Two students named Sohag and Sagar, who were present at the scene, said that due to the heat, they went to take a bath with their friends in the central swimming pool of Dhaka University around noon. Sudden drowned while swimming. Later, when he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical, the doctor on duty declared him dead at half past two.
Dhaka University Proctor Professor Dr. Maksudur Rahman said, I heard. I will give details about this later.
Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall Provost Prof. Dr. Masudur Rahman said, I heard about it. A student of Shahidullah Hall called me and told me about it. Proctor also informed me. I’m going to the hospital. I can tell you more about this when I go there.
Inspector in charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp Bachchu Mia said that the body has been kept in the emergency department morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
