Arrested husband
RAB has arrested the accused husband Mr. Rupen Dash (34) from Keraniganj, Dhaka in the case of murder of his wife Mrs. Putul Rani (32) in Gaibandha. Arrested Rupen Das son of Bonarpara 1st gate rail colony area of Saghata upazila Khonka Das.
This information was informed in a press release signed by RAB-13 Gaibandha Camp Squadron Leader Mahmud Bashir Ahmed on Monday afternoon. Earlier, he was arrested from the Model Police Station area of Keraniganj, Dhaka at around 7:30 pm on Sunday.
According to the notification, Mr. Ruppen Das got married 15 to 16 years ago with Smt. Putul Rani, daughter of late Vishwanath of Dhutur Bari area of Gobindganj, Gaibandha. They have a daughter in their family. Both of them used to earn their livelihood by working in garments in Dhaka. On April 9, Putul Rani and Rupen Das came to their village home. Later on April 10 around 4 pm, there was a quarrel over family matters. At one point, Rupen Das got angry and beat him with abuse. When she protested, Rupen Das hit the doll queen’s stomach with a sharp dagger in her hand. Putul Rani was seriously injured. He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The puppet queen died there while undergoing treatment. Later, Putul Rani’s brother Shri-Robin Das filed a murder case at Saghata police station on April 15 as the plaintiff.
The notification also said that Ruppen Das was hiding himself and changing his location repeatedly. The accused has been handed over to Saghata police station for further legal action.
