Dhaka: A man named Kazimuddin (40) died of electrocution while repairing a table fan in Sipahi Bagh, Khilgaon of the capital.

The incident took place in a house at Sipahi Bagh Chowdhury Bari Mor on Monday (April 22).

He was found unconscious by his relatives and taken to Dhaka Medical College (DMEC) Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Kazimuddin’s wife Morsheda Begum told the hospital that the table fan in the house was damaged. Kazimuddin was fixing that fan to get relief from the intense heat. At that time, he was accidentally electrocuted and seriously injured. His relatives immediately rescued him and first took him to the local Faraji Hospital and later to Dhamek Hospital for better treatment, where the doctor declared him dead.

He also said that their village home is in Kuliarchar Upazila of Kishoreganj. Currently, Khilgaon Sipahibagh Chowdhury lives in a house in Bari Mor area. Her husband Kazimuddin used to sell nuts in a van.

Assistant Incharge (ASI) of DMK Hospital Police Camp Masud said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.
