Tongir BCK dyeing factory fire under control, risk of major damage

A terrible fire has occurred in a dyeing and washing factory in Tongir BC, Gazipur.

This fire incident happened on Monday around 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The fire came under some control at 3 pm.

Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service Abdullah Arefin confirmed this information.

He said, ‘No casualty has been reported in this incident so far. The amount of damage will be informed later.’

The duty officer of Tongi Fire Service told The Daily, ‘Four units of the fire service are working to control the fire after receiving the news. Tongi Fire Service Officer Sajedul Kabir Jowardar is at the scene.

According to fire service sources, the fire broke out in the factory around 2 pm. Four fire service units are working to control the fire. However, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately known.

Locals said that the factory used to wash and dry the products of various factories. As the factory is very big, they are afraid of massive damage.
