International Desk: US voters trust former President Donald Trump more than current President Joe Biden to reduce inflation and cost of living. This was seen in a survey conducted by NBC News ahead of the US presidential election.
According to news media CNBC News, they conducted a survey across the country from 12th to 16th of this April. 1000 registered voters participated in the survey.
According to the results of the survey, 52 percent of voters supported Trump, while only 30 percent of voters supported Biden.
Registered US voters polled say Trump is better than Biden at reining in ongoing inflation and the cost of living.
On the occasion of the US presidential election next November, Joe Biden as the candidate of the ruling Democratic Party and Donald Trump as the candidate of the opposition Republican Party are running from state to state.
Republican candidate Trump continues to attack incumbent President Biden’s economic policies at campaign rallies. He highlighted the suffering of the American people due to ongoing inflation.
On the other hand, Biden is highlighting the contribution of his government to the job market, tariffs and tax issues aside from inflation.
Last Wednesday, Biden raised the issue of tariffs on Chinese goods in a speech in Pennsylvania, known as a swing state.
However, US voters cannot easily forget their woes over inflation and the cost of living.
The survey found that only 11 percent of respondents see ‘jobs and the economy’ as a big factor in the November election. On the other hand, 23 percent of respondents say the number one problem is inflation and cost of living.
The results of the NBC poll echo a New York Times/Siena College poll earlier this month. Trump is far ahead of Biden in that poll.
