On April 16, 15 people died on the highway in Faridpur while bringing government relief tins. In the collision with the bus, 11 people including women, men and children in the pickup died on the spot. 7 people were injured. Later, four others died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Additional District Magistrate on behalf of the district administration to investigate the cause of this terrible accident. A seven-member investigation committee headed by Ali Siddiqui was formed.

The inquiry committee has submitted its inquiry report to Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan Talukdar. He admitted the truth, submitted a report on Sunday afternoon on why, what caused this tragic accident and what steps could be taken to prevent the accident.

Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Ahsan Talukder said, we have sent the report to the highest level of the government on Monday. Govt will take action on it.

Faridpur accident investigation committee chief Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Mohammad Ali Siddiqui said, ‘We have spoken to people from all departments concerned about the accident. I visited the scene. Tried to find out why, what caused this tragic accident. I have also tried to make some recommendations so that the procession of deaths on the road does not increase.

What has been mentioned in the investigation report as the cause of the accident is that the bus driver was tired and sleepy after driving for a long time after Eid. We could see in the CCTV footage that the passenger bus and pickup were speeding. Due to the autorickshaw in front of them, they leave their own lane on the highway and move to another lane. Due to which the two cars lost control and hit each other directly.

Among the recommendations made by this investigation committee of Faridpur to prevent accidents on the highway, it is noteworthy that all those traveling on the road or highway should be aware of the traffic laws, dividers should be installed on the road in accident-prone areas or the road should be widened. The drivers of the vehicles will not be allowed to drive the vehicle after a certain period of time. Autorickshaws or small risk vehicles should be stopped on highways.

Enamul Sheikh, the elder brother of Iqbal Hossain, who died in a road accident on April 16, filed a case against the driver of the passenger bus Uttara Unique Paribahan at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station.

Five days after the incident on Sunday, the driver of the killer bus was on the run. A team of RAB-10 arrested Khokon Mia from Kotchandpur in Jhenaidah. Legal action is pending against him. RAB-10 held a press conference in this regard on Monday.
