Dhaka: A student of the Department of Philosophy died after taking a bath in the swimming pool of Dhaka University. The student named Swaad (19) is a first year student of DU’s philosophy department.
The incident took place in the swimming pool adjacent to the central playground of DU on Monday (April 22) at around 2:30 p.m. When his classmates took him unconscious, the doctors declared him dead.
Classmate who brought him to the hospital. Sohag said that many students of DU were taking a bath in the swimming pool in the afternoon. Many people were swimming there from one side to the other. Drowned in the pool water. They immediately rescued him and brought him to Dhaka Medical. However, the doctor declared him dead after examining him.
The assistant in charge of Dhaka Medical Police Camp quoted the doctor. Masud confirmed the death. He said that Soad’s body has been kept in the morgue. The incident is being investigated by Shahbag police station.
Soad’s home is in Bogra district. He is a first year student of philosophy department. Stayed at Haji Mohammad Mohsin Hall. His classmates said that he knew how to swim. However, he could not tell how he got into the water.
