Popular small screen actor Barguna’s son Oliul Haque Rumi passed away due to cancer.
On Monday (April 22), Ibn Sina died while undergoing treatment at the hospital around 4 am.
His death has cast a pall over Barguna, the actor’s first janaza was held at Shahid Bagh Jami Masjid at 9 am. Apart from this, the second Janaza will be held at Barguna Shaheed Abul Hossain Eidgah ground. After the funeral, he will be buried next to his mother in Barguna.
This was confirmed by actor Mir Sabbir. His dead car is on the way from Dhaka to Barguna. Rumi was born in Bamna of Barguna district. His father was a brave freedom fighter Azizul Haque and mother Hamida Haque. Rumi Maz is among three sisters and three brothers in the family. He is the eldest among the brothers. Rumi has two children. Daughter Afra Anjum Rujba lives in Canada with her husband and children. And son Fardin Haque Ritam recently completed his education from a private university.
Rumi’s acting debut was in the play ‘Still Slave’ at Theater Bailey Road. That was in 1988. In the same year, he made his debut on the small screen with the play ‘Kon Kanan Phool’. Apart from television, he also acted in movies. In 2009, he first acted in the film ‘Dariapar’s Daulati’. Since then he has acted in numerous plays.
Among them some notable dramas are – Suggestion Salim, Bokasoka Trini, Makeup Man, Dhaka to Barisal, Dhaka Metro Love, Bap Beta Run On, American Sahib, Journey By Bus, Baki Naam Bhai, Ratane Ratan Chine, Aakash Churi, Chaita Pagal, Oligli of life, city covered with clouds etc.
