Minni, who was sentenced to death, has again applied for bail in the High Court

Ayesha Siddika Minni, who was sentenced to death in the Rifat Sharif murder case in Barguna, has again applied for bail in the High Court.

Minni, who is currently in Kashimpur jail, made this request through a lawyer on Sunday.

Lawyer ZI Khan Panna, Syeda Nasreen, Md. In the bail application filed by Shahinuzzaman and Nazmus Saqib Tushi, Minni stated that she was not involved in the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif, but was trying to save him.

Advocate ZI Khan Panna told The Daily Star, ‘Minni’s bail plea will be heard when it comes to serial.’

Before this Minni applied for bail in the High Court on 16 October 2022. But that application was not heard.

On June 26, 2019, Rifat Sharif (25) was hacked and seriously injured by a group of youths led by local Nayan Bonds in front of Barguna Government College in broad daylight. On the same day, Rifat died while undergoing treatment at Barisal Medical College Hospital. Nayan Bond was made the main accused in the case filed in this incident.

A video clip of the attack went viral on social media, sparking outrage across the country. In the video, Minni is seen shouting and trying to stop the attackers on her husband. Minni was made the main witness in the case, but later the investigation of the case took a dramatic turn. Minnie was arrested after interrogation by the police. Later on September 30, 2020 Barguna court sentenced six people including Minni to death.
