8 more people have died due to heat stroke in the intense heatwave across the country. Among them, two died in Dinajpur, one each in Pabna, Meherpur, Narsingdi, Shariatpur, Jhalkathi and Sylhet. Earlier on Saturday, three people each died in Chuadang, Pabna and the capital Dhaka.

Sohrab Hossain, owner of deceased Billal Hossain’s truck, said, ‘Driver Billal Hossain went to Barapukuria area with the truck. Locals took him to the health complex when he fell ill around 10 pm on Saturday. At that time, the doctor on duty declared him dead.

In this regard, Phulbari Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Moshiur Rahman said, ‘When the locals took the truck driver Billal Hossain to the health complex, his pulse could not be found. He died before being brought here. He is suspected to have died of heat stroke due to excessive heat. Former Municipal Councilor Motahar Ali is also believed to have died due to the same reason.

Pabna: Farmer Alauddin Ali Alal (43) of Chatmohar upazila died at Pabna General Hospital on Sunday afternoon. He is Md. of Neutigacha area of ​​Moolgram Union of Upazila. Son of Yusuf Ali.

According to family and local sources, Alauddin Ali Alal fell ill due to heat stroke while working to harvest corn in Chatmohar in the morning. Meanwhile, he was rescued and admitted to Atgharia Upazila Health Complex. Later in the afternoon, he was taken to Pabna General Hospital for better treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Resident Medical Officer of Atgharia Upazila Health Complex Dr. Kamruzzaman said, ‘We admitted him here in the morning. Later in the afternoon he was sent to Pabna General Hospital. The authorities of Pabna General Hospital can better tell why he died.’

However, Pabna General Hospital’s emergency department doctor confirmed. Ayesha Siddiqa. He said, ‘People are suffering from heat stroke every day in extreme heat. Many patients are coming to the hospital. Our initial impression is that Alauddin of Chatmohar was suffering from heat stroke.

Meherpur: A housewife named Shilpi Khatun (45) died in Meherpur’s Gangni. The incident took place at Ruerkandi village of Sholtaka union of the upazila at 8 am. Artist Khatun is wife of Abu Taher of Ruerkandi village and daughter of Billal Malitha of neighboring Amtail village.

Meherpur Deputy Commissioner Shamim Hasan said, ‘The UNO and the health officer have been instructed to confirm whether Shilpi Khatun’s death was due to heat stroke or not. However, the district is experiencing the highest temperature in the country. Miking has been done with instructions not to go out of the house unless absolutely necessary and to keep oneself healthy in the intense heat.’

Narsingdi: A youth named Safqat Jameel Iban (32) died in Madhavadi of Narsingdi. He died on the way to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital at noon. Iban was the son of deceased Zakaria Jamil of Bhagirathpur area of ​​Madhavadi police station of Sadar upazila and a cloth merchant in Shekerchar market.

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Narsingdi Sadar Hospital Dr. Mahmudul Kabir Bashar said, “The family informed that Iban fainted as a result of walking in the hot sun and sweating profusely. He died before he could be brought to the hospital. Based on the information provided by the family, initially it appears that he died of heat stroke.’

Shariatpur: An autorickshaw driver named Harun Chowkidar (43) has been reported dead in Shariatpur. The incident took place in front of the district council on Sunday afternoon. Harun Chowkidar is the son of Ali Hossain Chowkidar of Nayan Madbarkandi area of ​​Moktarchar union of Naria upazila.

Resident Medical Officer of Sadar Hospital Dr. Sabikun Nahar said, ‘I got to know from relatives that Harun suddenly fell ill due to excessive heat. When the relatives of the patient brought him to Sadar Hospital in an ambulance, they went to the ambulance and saw that he had already died.

Shield: The youth of Paschim Aura village of Kathalia Sadar Union of Kathalia Upazila of Jhalkathi. Afzal Talukder (45) passed away. Local rural doctor Dilip Chandra Howladar confirmed that he died of heat stroke.

Sylhet: An unidentified rickshaw puller died in South Surma of Sylhet. The incident took place in front of the South Surma police box on Sunday afternoon. The identity of the rickshaw puller was not immediately available.

Dakshin Surma police OC Yardous Hasan said, ‘An unidentified rickshaw driver fainted in front of the Dakshin Surma police box around 12 noon. Later locals rescued him and took him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. At that time, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
