A theft has taken place at the house of a Dubai expatriate in Satkania, Chittagong. The thieves broke the cupboard and took away 13 pieces of gold ornaments, 93 thousand rupees in cash and 32 thousand rupees worth of valuables from that house.

The family members believe that this incident happened on Saturday (April 20) night. The incident took place in Tati Para area of ​​Ward No. 3 of Sonakania Union of Upazila. The family of Abdul Alam, a resident of Dubai, and his brother Shah Alam, a private employee, lived in that house.

Abdul Alam’s son Rabiul Alam Rakib said, on the evening of April 19, we all closed the doors and windows of the house and went to Chittagong city. On the same day around 12 o’clock my aunt went to visit father’s house. The next morning on April 20, uncle Shah Alam came home from his father-in-law’s house to go to his workplace in Chittagong city. When he came, he found the lock of the iron door broken and entered. Meanwhile, all the furniture including cupboards in the two rooms are lying in a state of disrepair. Later he realized the poison of taking away 13 large gold pendants, 93 thousand rupees in cash kept in cupboards and drawers. Also, the band of thieves took away about 32,000 valuables.

It is also known that his uncle has filed a complaint at the Shah police station.

Upazila Sonakania Union Chairman Jasim Uddin said that there was no one at home. Moreover, I have repeatedly told the local people who live in the city or elsewhere to inform me about the matter. Then I can arrange to guard the houses with chowkidars.

Incident investigation officer Satkania police station SI Md. Ikramuzzaman said that there was no one in the stolen house. Several items in the house were destroyed. The victims filed a police complaint. Meanwhile, police are monitoring the movement of suspicious people.
