After witnessing the attack in Nabinagar, a young man was hacked to death, 4 arrested

A young man named Badsha Mia (18) was killed due to a trivial incident in Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria. Three people were injured. The incident took place at Badda village of Salimganj Union of the upazila at around 7:30 pm on Saturday (April 20). The police recovered the body and sent it to the district morgue for autopsy.

In this incident, Popi Akhter, the sister of the deceased, has filed a case against 21 accused and 4 to 5 unidentified persons in Nabinagar police station with Anik Mia as the main accused. Police arrested 4 people after the case. Badsha Mia is the son of Abu Kalam of Badda village.

According to local sources, when a girl visited a person’s house in Badda village from Dhaka, a fight took place between the main accused in the case, Anik and his friends, and Saiful, Jihad, Tarek and his friends of Mohalla last Friday. Although the village teachers were informed to settle the matter, they did not take any action in this regard. The next day after Saturday evening, the people of the accused party clashed in front of Badda Paschim Para Government Primary School in a tea shop in the name of having tea to take information about the girl.

At that time, when Saiful was injured by the native weapon in their hands, the king screamed when he saw it, the attackers attacked the king and injured him. Tareq and Jihad were then hacked and injured. After taking them to a local hospital with serious injuries, the doctor referred them to Comilla and Dhaka for better treatment. Badsha Mia died on the way to Dhaka. The injured Saiful’s condition is still critical.

Popi Akhtar, the plaintiff in the case, said, ‘My brother is not involved in this incident. He was called from home and hacked to death.

Nabinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Alam said that the police have arrested four people in this incident. Police have been deployed at the spot to avoid further clashes.
