CNG driver killed for giving justice to lover, two youths sentenced to death

The court sentenced two youths to death for killing CNG driver Russell (18), a resident of Shubopur area of ​​Comilla Chouddagram.

Additional District and Sessions Judge of Comilla Jahangir Hossain gave this judgment on Sunday (April 21) afternoon. Those awarded death penalty are – Oli and Gias Uddin of Shubopur village of Chauddagram upazila.

Prosecutor Mujibur Rahman said that the CNG driver Russell complained to the lover of convicted accused Ghiyas Uddin that Ghiyas Uddin is a drug addict. Ghiyas Uddin plans to take revenge for this incident.

On June 18, 2017 Giyas Uddin and Oli hired Russell’s CNGT. Later, after roaming around in various places throughout the day, they consumed drugs in a bush near Comilla Airport. When Russell fell unconscious after consuming drugs, Gias Uddin and Oli strangled Russell to death.

In this incident, Russell’s relatives filed a murder case at Chouddagram police station. After hearing the testimony of 13 witnesses, the court sentenced Oli and Ghiyas Uddin to death on Sunday.
