51 districts of the country are burning in the heat wave. People are panting in the heat. In such a situation, 8 deaths of ‘heatstroke’ have been reported across the country.

Dinajpur
Two died of heat stroke due to heat wave in Phulbari of the district. They are Motahar Ali (58), a former municipal councilor of Chaksabajpur village in Phulbari town area and Billal Hossain (52), a truck driver of Rajarhat village in Jessore Kotwali police station area.
Motahar Hossain’s son Sanjid Ahmed Sweet said, “My father had fever for a few days.” Yesterday Saturday (April 20) around 5:30 pm he suddenly became very ill. At that time, he was taken to Upazila Health Complex and declared dead by the doctor on duty.
On the other hand, truck owner Sohrab Hossain said that the truck driver Billal Hossain went to Barapukuria area to collect stone dust rent from Jessore. When he fell ill around 10 pm yesterday, the locals took him to the Upazila Health Complex. At that time the doctor on duty declared him dead. I heard that driver Bilal died of stroke.
Pabna
A farmer named Alauddin Ali Alal (43) died of heat stroke while working to harvest corn in Chatmohar Upazila of the district. He died at Pabna General Hospital on Sunday afternoon. The deceased is from Newtigacha area of Moolgram Uniyon of the upazila. Son of Yusuf Ali.
According to family and local sources, Alauddin Ali Alal fell ill due to heat stroke while working to harvest corn in Chatmohar in the morning. Meanwhile, he was rescued and admitted to Atgharia Upazila Health Complex. Later in the afternoon, he was taken to Pabna General Hospital for better treatment, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Resident Medical Officer of Atgharia Upazila Health Complex Dr. Kamruzzaman said, we were admitted here in the morning. Later in the afternoon he was sent to Pabna General Hospital. Pabna General Hospital authorities can better tell what he died of.

Meherpur
A housewife died while working in her yard in Gangni upazila of the district. The deceased 45-year-old artist is the wife of Abu Taher of Ruerkandi village of Sholtaka Union of Khatun Upazila and the daughter of Billal Malitha of neighboring Amtail village. Artist Khatun has two sons.
Artist Khatun’s cousin Tshalima Khatun said, like the last few days, intense heat has started since Sunday morning. Meanwhile, the artist Khatun was working in the courtyard of his house. He suddenly died of a stroke. Earlier, artist Khatun was sick with fever and vomiting for 3 days in the heat, said the relative.
Narsingdi
A young man died after fainting in the heat in Sadar Upazila of the district. Deceased Safqat Jamil Iban (30) son of deceased Zakaria of Bhagirathpur village of Madhavadi police station. He was engaged in the business of ready-made garments.
The relatives said that Iban returned to his home after the wedding ceremony from his uncle’s house in Narayanganj in the morning. He felt ill since his return. When he was taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared him dead when he was physically very ill.
Bashar, a doctor at Sadar Hospital, said that the family informed that Iban fainted due to intense sun exposure and heat. He died before he could be taken to the hospital. Based on information provided by the family, the exact cause of death was not immediately determined, although it initially appeared to be heatstroke.
Shariatpur
An autorickshaw driver named Harun Chowkidar (43) died due to heatstroke due to excessive heat in the district. This incident happened in front of the district council on Sunday afternoon. Harun Chowkidar is the son of Ali Hossain Chowkidar of Nayan Madbarkandi area of Moktarchar union of Naria upazila.
Resident Medical Officer of Sadar Hospital Dr. Sabikun Nahar said, I learned from the relatives that Harun suddenly fell ill due to excessive heat. When the patient’s relatives brought him to Sadar Hospital in an ambulance, I went to see him in the ambulance. He died before being brought to the hospital.
Jhalakathi
A youth died of heat stroke in Paschim Aura village of Kathalia Sadar Union of Kathalia Upazila of the district. His name is Md. Afzal Talukder (45). Local rural doctor Dilip Chandra Howladar confirmed that he died of heatstroke.
Sylhet
A rickshaw puller died after falling unconscious on a busy city road. The incident took place in front of the police box next to the Kazirbazar Bridge in South Surma of the city on Sunday (April 21). Deceased Abu Hamid Mia (34) of Shibpur village of Lakhai upazila of Habiganj. Son of Karam Ali.
Yardous Hasan, OC of Dakshin Surma Police Station, said that an unidentified rickshaw driver fainted in front of the police box near Kazirbazar Bridge in Dakshin Surma. Later the locals rescued him and sent him to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
This police officer also said that initially it is believed that he died of heatstroke. The body has been kept at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue. Hamid’s family members have been informed.
Soumitra Chakraborty, deputy director of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, said that the temperature at which heatstroke should occur; Sylhet does not have that temperature. But it is difficult to call heatstroke death without knowing how long he drove the rickshaw or how his body was.
