Eight more people died in 24 hours due to dengue infection across the country. With this, the number of dengue deaths this year has increased to 1,562. One thousand 84 dengue patients have been admitted to the hospital. On the other hand, 4 thousand 462 dengue patients are currently under treatment in various public and private hospitals of the country including Dhaka.
This information was informed in the regular report on dengue signed by Md. Zahidul Islam, in charge of the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Tuesday.
According to the Department of Health, from Monday (November 20) 8:00 a.m. to yesterday Tuesday 8:00 a.m., out of 1,84 people who were admitted to hospital due to dengue, 221 are residents of Dhaka and 863 are from outside Dhaka.
On the other hand, out of the eight people who died in the last 24 hours, five are residents of Dhaka and three are outside Dhaka. From January 1 to November 21 this year, a total of 3 lakh 3 thousand 536 people have been affected by dengue throughout the country. Among them, 1 lakh six thousand 42 people are residents of Dhaka, and 1 lakh 97 thousand 494 people outside Dhaka.
In the last 24 hours, 1,267 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. Among them, 281 are residents of Dhaka and 986 are outside Dhaka.
From January 1 to November 21, 2,97,512 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital. Among them 1 lakh 4 thousand 5 residents of Dhaka and 1 lakh 93 thousand 507 people outside Dhaka.
281 people died of dengue in 2022. In December, the last month of that year, 27 people died. At the same time, 62 thousand 382 people were admitted to the hospital due to dengue in the year under discussion.
During the corona epidemic in 2020, dengue infection was not seen much, but in 2021, 28 thousand 429 people were infected with dengue throughout the country. In the same year, 105 people died due to dengue throughout the country.
According to the data of the Department of Health, 281 people died of dengue in 2022, 105 people in 2021, seven people in 2020 and 179 people in 2019.
