A terrible accident occurred in the area of Murphy and Ashwood Drives in the state of California, USA.
According to the New York Post report, a 70-year-old female driver broke into the house with a Tesla Model X car.
Local San Mateo police also visited the residential area after the crash, police said in a statement. Incredibly, no one was injured in the incident.
The San Mateo Police Department shared several photos of the accident on social media Facebook. Police wrote in the caption, ‘A driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a house this morning. But fortunately, no one was injured in the clash.’
According to the police post, the female driver and her 40-year-old daughter, who was in the passenger seat, remained at the scene after the accident. None of them were injured and no one was home at the time of the accident.
A spokesperson for the police department told PEOPLE: ‘The driver lost control of the vehicle and the car went over a neighbor’s yard. Then the boundary wall of the two houses was breached. The car flew about 40 to 50 feet over a swimming pool before crashing into the kitchen of the house.’
According to police, the Tesla vehicle was heading downhill and was not in self-driving mode at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses said the car braked quickly to stop. But what exactly happened is still under investigation, police said.
As a result of the collision, a part of the wall of the house came out. The house is currently cordoned off with red tape, so it can be inspected for structural damage. No arrests have been made in the incident and police have found no evidence that the driver’s indiscipline was the cause of the accident. The incident is under investigation.
