When the family members filed a case against the accused in connection with the death of a student in Dhaka’s Ashulia, Ashulia Thana police did not take the matter into account and started to hesitate. In this incident, the family members of the deceased took the body and stood in front of the police station.
This incident happened in front of Ashulia police station on Tuesday evening.
Deceased Riya Akhter (20) is the daughter of Monir Hossain of Ghazirachat area of Ashulia. He is an HSC candidate of Savar Legend College.
Kaya Akhtar, the sister of the deceased, said that on Monday Riya was called from her house by her classmate Kauchar. A few hours later, a friend of Kaushar told us on mobile phone that Rhea is admitted in Savar Enam Medical College Hospital in a critical condition. We rushed to the hospital after receiving the news; But they left the hospital with the news of Rhea’s illness. Basically Kawsar seriously injured my sister and he himself admitted to the hospital for unknown reason and escaped. Rhea died that afternoon while undergoing treatment. We made a written complaint to Ashulia police station in this incident. SI Noor Mohammad Khan of Ashulia police station started the argument without taking the complaint into consideration. I came to the police station today with the dead body.
The relatives of the deceased complained and said that SI Noor Khan of Ashulia police station quickly came to the police station gate after receiving the news that the body was brought in front of the police station. He then abused the ambulance driver carrying the body. At that time, he behaved badly with the relatives of the deceased.
SI Noor Mohammad Khan of Ashulia police station told reporters that the girl died after falling from the roof of a four-storey building. I have collected the CCTV footage of this incident.
When asked about the case, Noor Khan said, I have done PhD in journalism from Jagannath University. I do not give information to any journalists.
