Shah Amanat of Teknaf met a schoolgirl girl from Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar on Facebook. From the introduction, both of them got involved in a love affair.
At one point, the young man dreamed of marrying that girl. What the girl believes in her heart. He has to suffer the consequences. On November 7, the young man took the girl to a hotel in Teknaf and raped her against her will. Then he moved away.
After learning about the matter, the girl’s father informed RAB-15. RAB took the matter seriously and arrested Shah Amanat (19) from Teknaf Nayapara area, the accused in the sensational child rape case within 36 hours of filing the case. He is the son of Manu Mia of that area.
Cox’s Bazar RAB-15 Additional Superintendent of Police Senior Assistant Director (Law and Media) Md. Abu Salam Chowdhury confirmed this information to the media.
He said, “In this incident, the victim’s father filed a case at Teknaf police station as a plaintiff, whose case is No-32, dated 17/11/2023 A.H., Section-9(1) Prevention of Torture against Women and Children Act-2000 (Amended 2020) . After the matter was informed, RAB’s intelligence activities were increased with the aim of arresting the accused in the case.
Following this, RAB has learned based on secret information that the fugitive accused in the case is hiding in Nayapara area under Teknaf police station.
On Monday (November 20) night, based on such information, a smart raiding team of RAB-15, CPSC conducted a raid in the said area and managed to arrest Shah Amanat. During the initial interrogation, the alleged fugitive accused admitted that he was in hiding to avoid arrest.
He also said, ‘The arrested accused has been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal action.’
