Police have arrested a man named Abdus Samad Dudu (65) for trying to rape a disabled girl (13) in Sherpur Upazila of Bogra.
On Monday (November 20) night, the disabled person’s mother filed a written complaint at Sherpur police station. The police arrested him from the house by raiding at night.
Accused Abdus Samad is son of deceased Mobarat Ali of Ulipur area of Dudu Upazila and manager of MRB brick kiln.
According to the complaint, the family of the disabled girl came from Dinajpur and settled in Itali village of Bhabanipur union upazila in search of work. The disabled girl’s father is an autorickshaw driver. On Monday morning, the father goes out in an autorickshaw and in the afternoon, leaving the disabled girl at home, the mother goes to herd cows in the nearby MRB brick kiln.
On that occasion Abdus Samad, the manager of the brick kiln, went to Dudu’s house. A disabled teenage girl and another teenage girl (12) who was with her asked her to eat biscuits and touched various sensitive areas. He ran away and went outside. Later, Abdus Samad Dudu tried to rape the disabled girl. The girl went and told the mother of the disabled girl in tears. When Abdus Samad Dudu came home, he ran away. And found the girl naked inside the house.
When asked, he told the matter to his mother. Later came to Sherpur police station and filed a written complaint.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur police station Babu Kumar Saha said, received a complaint, Abdul Samad Dudu was arrested after a raid. He was sent to jail this afternoon.
