A husband killed his wife due to a family dispute in Shahrasti, Chandpur, police said. Shahrasti Thana police informed about this murder through a press conference on Monday (November 20). Earlier, housewife Reena Begum (25) was murdered in Sursai area of Shahrasti on November 17. Rina’s father Billal Hossain filed a murder case in Shahrasti police station accusing 5 people in this incident.
Meanwhile, husband Habibur Rahman Prakash Khokon (45) was arrested by Thana police in 48 hours of Rina’s murder case. He was arrested from Paranpur area of Tamta North Union of the upazila last Monday. Shahrasti police held a press conference on the incident that evening.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Kachua Circle Rizwan Saeed Ziko said that after the murder of housewife Rina Begum (25) in Sursai area of Shahrasti on November 17, law enforcement forces entered the field on the orders of the District Superintendent of Police. Within 72 hours of the incident and 48 hours of the case, the main accused Habibur Rahman Khokon was arrested by Shahrasti police station.
Rizwan Saeed Ziko also said that Habib married Rina Begum two months ago. After the marriage, Rina left the house without telling her husband Habibur Rahman on October 17. A month later, on November 17, when Rina returned to her husband’s house, they had an argument. At one point, Habib got excited, stabbed his wife and ran away. According to Habib’s confession, the phone used by Rina was recovered.
Shahrasti Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Alamgir Hossain said that the investigation of the case is continuing.
