In Gazipur, the police recovered the body of a young butcher with one arm and one leg severed. The body was recovered from an abandoned land in Bhogra North Para area under Basan police station of City Corporation on Tuesday. Name of the deceased – Ershad (36). He is the son of Syed Ali of Saraipara area of ​​Pahartali police station in Chittagong.

Sheila Begum, the wife of the deceased and relatives said that Ershad used to work as a butcher for rent in a person’s house in Bachir road area of ​​Naljani village under Basan police station of City Corporation. He left home on Monday afternoon. Even though it was late at night, the family fell asleep because he was late to return home. At around 2 o’clock that night, it was reported that someone had hacked her husband to death with a sharp weapon. Later, the body was dumped in the abandoned land west of Zainal Abedin’s residence.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Basan police station SI Nazmul Haque said that the police went to the spot and recovered the body of the deceased. The lower part of the right hand of the deceased was severed from the kunai. Besides, the right leg below the knee was almost severed and there were deep wounds under both armpits. An anklet and two pairs of sandals were recovered from the spot.

Abu Siddique, OC of Basan police station of GMP, said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased youth Ershad was intoxicated and involved in various criminal activities. Due to enmity with some people, his accomplices may commit this murder. Legal action in this regard is under process. The body has been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue in Gazipur for post-mortem.
