Pandav Mandal, son-in-law of the deceased schoolgirl, said, I was going to my in-laws’ house with my wife and sister-in-law. My sister-in-law got off the bike to urinate near Samsi rail gate. He could not escape as the train suddenly came at a high speed. He died on the spot after being hit by a train. The police came and recovered the body. I informed my father-in-law’s house. Railway police and GRP on duty at Samsi railway station rushed to the spot after receiving the news. Police quickly recovered the body of the school girl from the side of the railway line. The body was sent to Maldah Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
