Due to derailment of Dhaka-bound Rangpur Express at Gharinda in Tangail, train movement was stopped on that railway for about 9 hours. This has affected the train schedule from Dhaka. As a result six trains were delayed for several hours from Dhaka railway station.
On Tuesday (November 21) at 7pm, the onboard screen at Dhaka Railway Station showed that the Panchagarh-bound Ekta Express, which was scheduled to leave at 10.10am, had not yet left, but was waiting at platform number seven.
Besides, the Mohanganj Express bound for Mohanganj was supposed to leave at 1:15 PM, but it has not left yet, but it is waiting at platform number four; The Chapainawabganj-bound Banalata Express was supposed to leave at 1:30 p.m. but it has not left yet, but is waiting at platform number six; The Rajshahi-bound Silcity Express was scheduled to leave at 2:45 PM, but it has not yet left, but the probable timing has been given at 8:10 PM.
The Chilahati Express to Chilahati was supposed to leave at 5 pm but has not yet left, but the probable time given is 8:30 pm; The Akhaura-bound Titus commuter train was scheduled to leave at 5:45 PM, but it has not left yet. Kishoreganj-bound Egaro Sindur Twilight Express was scheduled to leave at 6:40 PM, but it did not leave until 7:00 PM.
In this regard, Station Master of Dhaka Railway Station Mohammad Anwar Hossain told Dhaka Post that the North Bengal trains are leaving late due to the accident. However, trains on other lines are leaving on schedule.
