The police recovered the body of a person from a tea garden in Sylhet city. Along with that, a knife and a blood-stained shirt were recovered from the side of the body.

The body was found with stab marks and one of the hands was bitten by a wild animal, police said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the body was recovered from the tea garden of Ali Bahar in Pathantula Guabari area of ​​the city.

The name of the deceased is Sitesh Chand Gop (40). He is the son of Rakhal Chand Gop of Ghoshpara village of ward number 8 of Habiganj Sadar.

Moin Uddin Sipan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Airport Police Station of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter of the dead body.

He said, ‘The deceased’s elder brother Gopesh Chand Gop identified the identity of the body. It is initially believed to be a murder. There are stab marks on the body. We are looking into the matter.’

Locals say that around noon on Tuesday, locals saw the body lying in the tea garden and informed the police. Later, the airport police station recovered the body and identified the body.

The victim’s family and the police say that Sitesh Chand came to Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital with his wife a few days ago and admitted his wife there. Since last Sunday, Sitesh has been missing. A General Diary (GD) was filed at the Jalalabad Police Station by his family on Monday. A child was born to her on Tuesday.
